Individual therapy, also known as one-on-one therapy or counseling, is a form of psychotherapy where a client works directly with a trained therapist in a private and confidential setting. The purpose of individual therapy is to provide the client with a safe space to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

Couples therapy, or marriage or relationship counseling, is designed to help couples improve their relationships. A trained therapist helps facilitate discussions between partners to address conflicts, enhance communication, and strengthen the relationship. Couples therapy can benefit partners at any stage of their relationship, whether they are dating, engaged, married, or even considering separation.

Family therapy, or family counseling, involves working with families to improve communication and resolve conflicts. The focus is on the family unit rather than just individual issues. Family therapy can help families navigate through difficult situations, improve their understanding of one another, and nurture a more supportive environment.

Group therapy is a form of psychotherapy in which a group of individuals with similar issues or goals meets regularly under the guidance of a trained therapist. The group setting provides a supportive environment for sharing experiences, gaining insights from others, and developing coping strategies.

Goodness of fit describes the compatibility between an individual’s temperament or personality and their environment, such as the match between a child's temperament and their parents' parenting style. A good fit leads to positive development and well-being, while a poor fit can contribute to stress or behavioral problems.

Goodness of fit also describes the compatibility between a child's temperament and the expectations or demands of their environment, such as family or school. A good fit supports healthy development, while a poor fit may require adjustments in parenting or educational strategies.

Court-appointed family therapy is a therapeutic intervention mandated by a court to address specific issues within a family. This is typically during or after legal proceedings such as divorce, custody disputes, or cases involving child welfare. A trained therapist helps the family resolve conflicts, improve communication, and promote the well-being of the children involved.

Reunification family therapy is designed to help re-establish and strengthen relationships between family members who have been estranged or separated due to divorce, parental alienation, foster care placement, or other family conflicts. A trained therapist works to facilitate the healing process, rebuild trust, and create a healthy, supportive family environment.
