Dr. Kanter is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, who has practiced in the Northwest Chicagoland Suburbs for 20+ years. She specializes in a strength-based, client-centered approach to talk, play, group therapy for children, adolescents, and adults. She also specializes in diagnoses of individuals of all ages. She earned her Bachelor's of Science in Psychology and Sociology, from Tulane University, in 2000, as well as her Master’s of Science and Doctoral degrees from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology in 2007. With specialized training in child and adolescent therapy, she also focuses on adult and family therapy.
Her training includes work in community mental health centers, hospitals, theraputic day schools, and private practices. Dr. Kanter's expertise encompasses Autism Spectrum Disorder, developmental delays, learning disabilities, other neurodivergent disorders, mood disorders, depressive disorders, and anxiety disorders. She often collaborates with parents and schools to advocate for children with Individual Education Plans.
